Maintenance from Konami 5 June 2009
Its now the third week into a new season, and after some lengthy maintenance shutdowns, (that might have indicated some kind of change was coming,) we have received nothing but bitter disappointment.
The number of days since the previous pack release is over 250, and the online meta is rapidly becoming outdated, stale and repeating. The much anticipated launch into 5Ds, tuners and synchros does not look like it will happen now, or for at least the next couple of MONTHS.
So, rather than paying for this “much neglected second-class nothing-new rehash” some have started to play a different electronic format Yu-gi-oh; the Nintendo DS version “5D’s Stardust Accelerator WC2009″ has alot of features that are desperately missing from the PC version; newest cards (even its own exclusive cards) including sychros and tuners, tag team duelling, turbo duelling and so on. What’s more is you don’t have to pay for every single duel, and you can just enjoy the mind-challenge of building decks and trying different duelling methods and strategies.
I really hoped it wouldn’t come to this, but with the state that the online meta has become and with no news to indicate any hope for the future……
So instead, some people are turning to using nds emulators that run on the PC, such as : http://www.ideasemu.org/index.php

and then installing a downloading program such as: http://azureus.sourceforge.net/download.php
and then visiting sites such as : http://www.mininova.org/
and then doing a search for the WC2009 rom such as “[NDS]Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds Stardust Accelerator World Championship 2009″ – either the JAP or EUR versions are fine.
Not that I would condone such actions, but when people are tired of being left behind can you really blame them ?

There’s only 1 version of WC2009, you can choose any language you want, it already has an English option. Regarding that, WC2009 was amazing. I love Turbo duels, tag duels, and the new synchro stuff. My deck is awesome, can’t wait to build it in the online version. I think Konami will update to 5d’s once the anime series finishes. THis is what they did when they updated from YGO to YGO2 when GX finished.
I know this is terribly negative of me, but does anyone else feel Yu Gi Oh! as got too clunky and bogged down with all these new card types. It’s getting alot like Magic the Gathering – cards pre X pack are useless.
I’m actually wondering if they actually DID something this maintenance…
I suspect that there will always be a weekly maintenance of 1 hour minimum, purely to backup the servers and everyones profiles.

Yea I saw that one as well, but the graphics are as good as Gameboy Color. They have anime and OCG cards as well, but that just makes the whole game more cheap b/c there’s no ban list to restrict any of those cards. The 5d’s series is almost over, I predict by the end of July, we might see a big update.
I Don’t think will be a big update by the end of July because a Season Is Never Interrupted by the switch of a series and 5D’S Series is far from over if it were to switch anytime soon to YGO 3 it would be at the start of Season 11.

I don’t know anything about WC2009, but I think it’s about time we all took a stand and leave this game as a protest.
We *PAY* per play and get an extremely buggy game with only 7(!) cards released every other month!
It’s been almost a year since the last pack was released. This game is too repeatitive as is.
Not to mention the crappy game itself. Terrible interface (search is case sensitive?!?), can’t tag cards, trading takes hours and you can’t even clear the chat? Voice speaker randomly decides to change itself (why can’t I lower \ raise the volume during a game?)
They won’t bother change anything unless we do something. Last time when tons of people left, they rushed the new packs.
So let’s do the same.
I suggest we all leave the game for a while. It’s pay per play so you don’t really lose anything by it.
Let the server empty out for a while. That will rush them a bit.
Just my two cents.
thank you for the link to “duel monsters unlimited”. it is a beautiful game with all cards published until now. moreover you can build your favourite deck from beginning and don’t have to collect the expensive cards first. and last but not least everything is free =)

There aren’t many bugs for me anymore. I had one huge bug in the beginning, because my graphic card was to new to support the game. I sent an e-mail to them that they should fix the bug. After a couple of weeks they worked on it and it’s fixed now, so they aren’t that lazy, though. Or the bug was easy to fix =).
Btw I remember the procedure from ygo 1 to ygo 2.. that also took quite long..
Generally the whole things is pretty annoying, but I think the main thing that’s ridiculous is the fact they are so harsh on the new ban list with no intention of actually releasing anything anytime soon.
It really restricts gameplay and the duels are so much slower.. =/
I haven’t lost faith in YGO2, i think new things will be released, perhaps they have just decided not to leak anything yet
Perhaps they have some sort of secret project going for YGO3 WITH the release of synchros
Perhaps Konami has lost focus due to the injunction with UDE
Perhaps with the current economic climate, Konami are under strain
There are many possibilities, I agree with cooLopke, but it is disrespectful to us as the customers that Konami do not keep us informed and give reason

I never plaied ygo1 but i think going up to ygo3 will have to many bugs and then a lot of people will not play because of the bugs!! cause some bugs my have a virus then it gos onto your computer etc

IMO before they actually release Y03 they should make sure IT HASNT GOT ANY EXTREME BUGS IN!. Seriously I have spent like £200 on a game that is constantly outdated and extremely buggy. Lol no wonder I stopped in like march to play world of warcraft instead. IMO not only is that game better than this 1 (Utterly disregarding bugs) its not actually buggy (Unless you pc is slow then you will experience lag). i was just wondering if anyone could help me with the problem im getting. every time i log into my character and enter my room the screen turns black. i can hear the music but cant see anything or move. i have upgraded my graphics card which is a tnt2 model. i have windows xp. i have over 50 giga bites of space and have everything else. please someone help me so i can play XD

lol Yugioh 5d’s is going for another season. Looks like it will not be over in a while. Though the next episode will be the end of season 2. A new dude named Ghost (Jaden perhaps) will come. Anyways, I’m not playing YGO online until the new packs come out. I have more time now to do other things lol.

I hate companies who rip people’s money with deficent products, like microsoft with windows vista and the infamous Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death. And Konami with Pro Evolution Soccer, which is unplayable online due to massive lag. And now the abandoned Yu-Gi-Oh online. wich lacks of support, is full of bugs, and now lacks of updates. All these is almost like a legal way to scam people’s money. I am sick of this I am going to delete my account and go play Magic the Gathering Online wich is cheaper and better than this BS.
Ya’ll know wat should konami should do make a game for the ps3 wih the eye system… that have a story mode and an online game play, i know is alot of data to make, but the result would be good. Don’t you ya’ll think so??? Forgot if konami dosent do nothing before Final Fantasy 14 comes out i would said goodbye to yog online and hello to Final Fantasy 14 …..

Well, we have had NEW Event cards posted and the NEW DP17 has been released, this site was great about posting new Info, now its not even worth checking out. All the other sites are doing wat you used to do. Think its time for you to pull this if you wont stay current with wats going on. I used to like this site too.
drkmagic: news was posted about dp17 a long time ago, the only thing missing was the dp17 prize cards (which is now posted on official site)
The new um event is common news also; usually spirit would post that sort of info, im not really that interested in merely repeating what shows up on the official site.
Still no news from spirit – i suspect he’s lost his internet connection sometime and cannot get on with his own updates.
if someone would like to take on spirits’ posting of common news then i might consider it.
I continue to watch for any updates to the code; the update that came down last week had a bug fix for phantom of chaos, but not much else. If something ground breaking is released then i’ll post it up.
you know. i have this thing in my head about why we should get ygo 3 soon. well heres the problem:
1. you may not get the same cards from the card shop (excluding the duelpass cards shop) that are in the game in currently we have. because once we go into ygo 3, card shop closed till later in time again and two, doomcalibur knight will raise its value to just about dark paladin or might even 700+ mp.
2. You might lost all your avatar items that you bought in the current game we have. yep, thats right. we bought that extra mp for nothing. or even that extra accesory for nothing unless the ygo 3 carries over from the first and second series.
3. Trading values will rise, rise and yes….RISE! its hard to say that trade while it last is more likely to be save your values cards before the ygo 3 starts.
4. Event have to start over again and have to wait for awhile once ygo 3 starts. in other words, gunslinger and duelist trials along with evolution will be alot different with same concepts. new cards yes but waiting for awhile for new events will be rampage on the people.
now whats good about for ygo 3 if its starts:
1. We may have the same thing of beta version and then get cards for keeps but not for trade again. This well have to wait until at least from Duelist genesis thru stardust overdrive or future packs are released. think about it, if we start now in ygo 3, it would speed up but it could be more boring afterwards. i have a hunch that the company will give a shot for all of us to get a taste of newest packs at its best.
2. New modes of gameplay. Since we have duel runners now, there will be a thing called turbo duel. complicated yes, but it maybe a new game experience to see. you can bet that there will be accesory shops for mps for parts for your bike and your clothes.
3. Tag duels (unless they releasing in ygo2). tag duels have been around in gx era. so if the ygo2 releases tag duels (i hope -.-) then there will be tag duels.

Yugioh online sucks now no new pack. Its now 316 days since pack 48 came out wow thats sad!! and still no new pack!!!
im not playing yugioh until pack 49 comes out it should only take about a month or 2 for a new pack! you know what i mean we pay for DP and stuff and we get nothing back i know DT and GS and other stuff but i want a NEW PACK ( we should also stop playing Yugioh for a day and see what happens you know what i mean they may say oh time to do something?)

i LOLED @ drk magic, most of those cards like toon world, the god cards, red-eyes, and dark paladin are already been relased. thats just outdated version.
ok, might want to look again, their Alt. Art cards and some old cards that were never released. I still have the old list from the Card List on YO1, there were alot of Alt. Arts on there.
ok clearing this up…. Alt. Art cards to my knowledge have ONLY been released as YOC winner cards. I seriously doubt they will be used as event cards or DP bonus cards. The God Cards are in the game, but not obtainable by players. I think this is because Konami only put these cards into the database so they could be used by the NPCs. I dont think they are ever going to be released for us to use. Sixth Sense is currently banned, and to my knowledge Konami has never released a card that is banned BEFORE its release. Just wouldnt make sense. As for the cards like Meotoko, i looked the card up on wiki. This card was released in the OCG in 1999….if you seriously think that konami is going to release a normal 700 atk monster after more than 10 years then you have serious issues. What would be the point? Could you see fighting in gunslinger if that was the prize card? Lastly the only cards that have been released for almost a year now (aside from a few alt. art cards) have been from the update last year that included over 100 new cards. its on page 7 of this website if you havent seen it http://www.duelevolution.info/page/7/ It is widely believed that YGO3 will be introduced when all the cards on that list have been released. The card Kaiser Colosseum has been in the database for a while now, and is not on that update in the link. So chances are it will not be released. So drkmagic, if you take off all the extras on your list that arent relevant, your list is the same as the one that was posted above you.
