I’m sure a lot of beginner wants to know how to get start fast but before that I want you to know about Yu-Gi-OH Online Booster Pack before.

You need to know it before. All of Booster Pack in this game follow OCG not TCG you can’t find TCG Exclusive cards in Online Booster Pack.

Booster Pack 1-14 are Exclusive Booster Packs creating only for YU-GI-OH Online, Starting from Booster Pack 15 Konami decided to follow OCG Booster Pack but They didn’t follow All of OCG Booster Packs There is a little different between OCG Booster Pack and YU-GI-Oh Online Booster Pack. A Different is YU-GI-Oh Online Booster Pack Adding some Cards into it and also remove some of OCG card but mostly They follow OCG Booster Pack.

Addition cards are promo cards/structure deck cards from In Real Life As for Remove cards some of them become Event Cards/Duelpass Cards.

Check it out before you are going to spend your Boosterpass Points to get a cards you want. A lot of good cards are event cards If you are beginner the only way to get it is to trade with old player. Example of these are Gorz The Emissary of Darkness, Dimensional Prison, E-Hero Stratos, Card Trooper, Allure of Darkness, Destiny Draw etc…

Here How to get start fast

1. Buy a lot of Duelpass/Boosterpass but only 1 for each Phase (Only Phase 7-18). Why doing that? A Reason behind it is to get a lot of Structure Deck cards.

I know you may want 1 of 6 random cards from some phase but please don’t bet your luck on it you need a lot of cards to start first.

You will get 1 structure deck for the first time you enter duelpass/boosterpass code, It mean you got 40+ cards for each duelpass/boosterpass.

The Problem is How to find one of each Duelpass/Boosterpass. If you can buy Boosterpass from Yu-Gi-OH Online Main Site through Paypal you will have no problem because you can select which phase you want to buy but If you can’t you may need to find it from a lot of site that sell it (You can see a list of site by looking on sidebar at Online Duelpass/Boosterpass Store).

I’ve heard from my friend ygo-online-shop can find some old phase duelpass even it list on his site as Out of Stock, You need to contact them before (By E-Mail/Chat at his site) and There is some selling an old phase duelpass on Ebay (There is 1 Classified Ads told you that he can sell any phase duelpass to you at 5$ [I don't know, He is Trustable or not]).

Note : Please avoid buying Duelpass Phase 1-6 because you will not get a structure deck from it (Duelpass Phase 1-6 is Yu-Gi-OH Online 1 Duelpass).

***This is a fastest way to get start in this game you need a lot of structure deck cards. If you get a lot of duplicate cards from structure deck even you can’t trade it with Player but you can trade it with Blisters to get a card you want (Trade 50 cards to get 1 card you want from Booster Pack 1-48).

2. Buy 3 Structure Deck at Blister’s Hideout to get more Structure Deck cards each Structure Deck will cost you 10 BP.

3 Structure Deck are The Advantage of a Disadvantage, Equip To Win! and Watch your hand!

3. Trade your cards with other people but before doing this you must know cards rarity and know how to trade. You can trade by going to lobby and type like this offer xxx for yyy (xxx is card name you want to trade it/yyy is card you want from other player).

4. Get some cards from NPC. NPC can give you some useful cards for beginner like Joey he will give you Jinzo for free if you beat him 45 times.

5. Trade 50 cards to Blister’s Hideout to get the one you want from Booster Pack 1-48 (You can trade structure deck cards to Blister but you can’t trade it with Player).

6. Rent – If you want some cards you can rent cards from player by click on player name and click “send rental request” but not many people will accept a rental request from you. You must tell them and rent from someone who willing to help you in lobby before.

7. Create your deck and then spend your Boosterpass Points to get a cards you want at Blister’s Hideout. Try to make a deck with only Booster Pack cards because If you make a deck that require a lot of event cards it will be hard for you because you must trade with other player to get event cards.

8. Wait! Wait for what? I mean wait for them to add event into the game and wait for them to release Theme Pack and Expansion Pack into the game. You can find cards you want there but right now there is no event and no Theme Pack/Expansion Pack in this game.

Part 2 Basic Thing You need to Know About This Game

Before we are going to give more in game detail You need to know basic stuff before, First thing you need to know is Payment System.

Yu-Gi-OH Online Duel Accelerator Payment System : Duel are free but if you want more cards you need to spent BP [Boosterpass Points] at Blister’s Hideout.Without BP you can’t open Booster Pack to get cards and can’t get a new Avatar Item.

How to get more BP? (Boosterpass Points) – You can get it everytime you enter Duelpass/Boosterpass Code but you need to buy Duelpass/Boosterpass or buying Boosterpass 150 before ). After you buying it you will get a code (16 letters and it’s a mix of number+alphabet)

***Note :  Boosterpass code can be use at 1 times only and has no expiry date and Duelpass/Boosterpass from any phase can be used in the game as long as “Yu-Gi-Oh! ONLINE” remains in service.

If you buy Duelpass Phase 7 (E-Hero Evolution Deck Duelpass) – present Boosterpass, For the first time you enter the code you will receive Structure  Deck (40 cards or more) If you enter the same code (Same Phase) again on the same user id you will get 1 of 6 random cards.

You can enter that code in game to get more Boosterpass Points (BP), You can enter the code by login to the game and click on the bottom left icon on the screen (It’s Main Menu in this game) and select Booster Pass.

After you click it it will bring you to this screen

You can now enter the code by typing or by click on the letter. If you enter it correctly you will get 30 Boosterpass Points (+30) for 1 code enter and Duelist Premium will renew to 30 days.

***Note : You can’t get 3 Structure Deck you can get from Yu-Gi-OH Online 2 When you enter Boosterpass Code in Yu-Gi-OH Online 3 (You can’t get Structure Deck “Equip To Beatdown”, “Concealers Deck” and “Resident of Darkness” in Yu-Gi-Oh Online 3).

Let me Explain Duelist Premium for a little bit Duelist Premium is Extra service for the customer who has increased a BOOSTERPASS Point.

You will be able to use below service during a certain period:(*1)

1) You can Duel against the All NPC characters. (*2)
2) You can join the official events.
3) You can create “User Events”.
4) You can create a Team.

*1) There is a possibility that the service will be changed without notice.
*2) Depends on the status of the game, some of the NPCs will not be able to Duel.

You can see How many days left till it expire by click on the phoenix icon on top left of the screen and you can see How many Booster Points you have there.

For Shorts Duelist Premium status will let you Duel NPC, Join Official Events, Create User Events (not available yet) and create a Team. Don’t worry If your Duelist Premium is Expired your Boosterpass Points still fine but you can’t do a lot of thing I mention earlier.

How Long till it expire? 30 days and 30 days is the maximum number for Premium Status you can get.

EX = You have 10 days left till it expired when you enter boosterpass code instead of getting 40 days you will get only 30 days left till it expire.

Konami want player to buy Boosterpass from them at least 30 days once.

***Note : There is no way you can get more BP without spending your money to buy Boosterpass Code/Boosterpass 150.

There is not much different between Duelpass and Boosterpass. The Different is The Way it use.

Duelpass is the code you need for duel If you don’t have it you can’t duel in Yu-Gi-OH Online 1-2. Everytime you enter Duelpass code you will get 30 Duel Points. You will lose duel points everytime you duel with other player or npc.

Every Duelpass will give you 1 Mileage Point (10 MP in Yu-Gi-OH Online Duel Evolution). You can use Mileage Points to get single card (YO1 you can only got single card) or you can use it to Open Booster Pack to get 5 cards from it+You can use it to get an Avatar Item. It’s use on Yu-Gi-Oh Online 1-2.

Boosterpass is the new name of duelpass. You got the same points as duelpass (30 points) but There is no Mileage Points (MP) in Yu-Gi-Oh Online 3 Duel Accelerator and Duel are free.

It will be use to get cards and avatar item from Blister’s Hideout (Card Shop in Yu-Gi-Oh Online 3).

In Yu-Gi-OH Online 2 After the end of duel nomatter you win or lose you can get a cards from Boosterpack but in Yu-Gi-Oh Online 3 You will never get a cards after the end of duel. If you want cards you must spend your BP at Blister’s Hideout to open booster pack (You will get 5 random cards from Booster Pack).

***Note : Duelpass from Yu-Gi-OH Online 1-2 can be use in Yu-Gi-Oh Online 3.

Where to buy Boosterpass code and Boosterpass 150 : You can buy it at official site there are 2 Boosterpass available Paypal Boosterpass and Credit Card Boosterpass (Boosterpass 150) but they accept only a few country If you can’t buy it from official site you may need to buy it from Ebay or buy it from other site (You can see which site selling it on Sidebar looking at Online Duelpass & Boosterpass Store – I gather a links of site that sell it for you there).

***Note : You need Paypal Account if you want to buy Duelpass/Boosterpass from other websites but you don’t need a credit card. I live in Thailand and my Bank have a service call “E-Web Card” It’s Virtual Credit Card for Online Shopping. I can link it with Paypal Account, Everytime I bought something online it will use my deposit money.  I’m sure you will have this service on your Bank Account.

One thing you need to know is When you buy Duelpass/Boosterpass from other site they will sent a scan code or type a code and sent it to your Paypal E-mail Address within 24 hours. If you didn’t receive it in 24 hours you must contact a seller.

After you know Payment System already we can now step into the game just login to your User ID and you will see this screen.

There are 4 important parts in the main screen you can see a description of each menu by looking at the bottom right of the screen (Near Duel Disk Icon).

1. Center of the screen is a Map Selection Screen there are a lot of place showing buy There are only 3 place available right now. 3 Place are My Hideout (a place for customization your avatar+duel message+title), Kaiba Corporation (a place for dueling Character NPC) and Blister’s Hideout (It’s a place for buying Structure Deck, Boosterpass Pack and Avatar Item by spending your Boosterpass Points)

*Note : Some NPC have a condition to duel them (EX = Kaiba Seto) More Information about NPC you can read it at NPC Page and YO3 NPC.

If you go to My Hideout You can customize Player Avatar, Duel Speech (Dialogue), Title, Greeting Message and Animation (Player Animation).

There are some special command when you want to customize Duel Speech (Dialogue).

You can set it to automatically using Player Name and Card Name by using a special command.

@@s for the player name

@@m for the card name

EX = I customize dialogue when I summon monster to “Come Out! @@m” When I summon Caius the Shadow Monarch. It will display at duel screen with Come Out! Caius the Shadow Monarch.

2. Bottom left of the screen is Chat Area and can now typing a message to chat with other people but you need to enter the Chat Room first. You can enter by click on Balloon icon and select a room. each room can contain 100 people and there are 5 chat room for each country+world chat room.

You can type a color chat message by typing @1 or @2 or etc. and then type your text message.

@1 is red

@2 is blue

@3 is green

@4 is brown

@5 is pink

@6 is light blue

@7 is light brown

You can see Chat command by typing /h and press enter on the chat area. Here a Chat command

The most popular one is a Send Message to Player. It’s send private message from Yu-Gi-Oh Online 2 only that player can see this message, It’s also known as PM in this game.

Ex = You can type it by typing /p *** XXX (YO2 you can type only /*** XXX)

*** = Player Name XXX = Message

When someone sent a Private Message to you his/her name will be in Red Color.

One thing you need to know is There is a Tab Chat in this game when you are trading with someone there will a be a Trade Partner Tab for you and your trading partner for chatting.

Team Tab is for sending a message for your Team Members

Trade Tab is for Trading but not many people use it a lot of people always using a Main Chat (Lobby Chat like EN 01)

Tab name will  have yellow color to notify you if there is a new chat message. You can switch between tab by click on it.

3. The Left side of the screen is Information Tab, It will display various information.

I will explain From Right to Left

1. The windows icon you can click it to minimize of maximize an Information Tab.

2. The Bell Icon it will display a maintenance Information Date and Time.

3. Card+Text icon it will display Cards Detail – Total Number of cards you have, Cards Available for Trade, Cards not available for Trade, Current Borrowed, Currently Loaned (but it’s not  available now you will see only 0 number).

4. Card Icon it will display Card Information – Card Image+Text

5. Player Search Icon If you click on it, It will display all Player and you can filter player by various condition like Display Player currently in duel, Display player waiting for single match duel, display player waiting for Match Duel, Display Friends (Display only player on your friend list), Display Team Members, Display NPC and Detail Search player.

***Note : If you already filter a player by click on some icon If you want to see all player again you need to click on filter icon again (click on shining icon again the shining will go out and it will display all player).

There are a lot of NPC available for duel when you click Display NPC icon.

All of this NPC is original NPC for this game. Character NPC will available for duel at Kaiba Corporation.

If you click on Player Name it will display Player Information Windows. You can see a lot of player profile like name/team/record etc.. As for Manner level It will increase when someone rate good or exellent at the end of duel.

You can add someone to Friend List by Send Friend Request (The one you click must agree too).

If you click on Chat Message (Send Private Message to player you select) it will automatically type /p+(Player Name) for you. You just type only the message.

If you add someone to ignore list you will not see that player message on Chat Room.

If you want to trade card with someone you need to click on Send Trade Request. Player who receive a Trade Request will see this icon on the top left of the screen.

If his/her accept Trade Request it will bring you to Trade Screen.

You can trade by drag a cards from right side to center of the screen or double click it. You can trade up to 20 cards per trade but you can’t trade some cards in this game (It will have a grey color over cards name).

Cards you can’t trade in this game

- Cards you got from NPC (Yu-Gi-OH Online 3 NPC)

- Cards you got by Trading 50 cards at Blister’s Hideout

- Starter Deck and Structure Deck cards (Structure Deck you got by enter Duelpass/Boosterpass)

- Cards you got by having 500 TP (Tournament Points) or more from Yu-Gi-OH Online 2

- Cards you got by enter Special Duelpass code (NDS Qualifiers Duelpass)

***Note : Not many people will accept random Trade Request. You must talk with him/her before or you must have a cards they need from Chat Room.

You can rent cards or deck from other people by select Request Rental. You can set a condition by let some one rent your cards from 1 days/3 days /7 days/14 day.

There are 2 type of Rent (Deck and Free)

If you select Rent Type = Deck. Max number of rent cards per time is 90 cards (Main 60, Extra Deck 15, Side Deck 15) and you can load deck in this screen.

If you select Rent Type = Free. Max number of rent cards per time is 90 cards but It’s rent only the cards not a deck so you can put more than 15 Extra Deck cards for someone to rent from you.

***Note : You can’t put cards you can’t trade for someone to rent from you.

4. Bottom left of the screen you will see 2 icon. It’s main menu for Player and Create a duel icon.

Main Menu Icon have a links to each game windows

You can Edit Deck by click on Edit Deck, You can see a cards you rent from other player by click Rental Card List, You can see your profile and Tournament Points by click My Profile, You can see Team Information and form a team by click Team, You can see your Friend List and Ignore List (If you add someone to ignore list you will not see a message sent by that player in Chat Room) by clicking on it.

Booster Pass is for enter Duelpass/Boosterpass Code, Duel Option is for customization Duel Display Text and Message and Animations.

Please pay attention to Duel Option

If you turn on Auto Tracking it will select Cards effect/Monster Attack/Attack Target automatically. Please Turn it off sometimes you may wrongly select a wrong target or activate a wrong cards effect because of it.

If you hate 3d Animation Effect you can turn it off here at Duelist Animations.

If you play some cards that really effective in some monster/spell/trap cards zone you must turn off Auto Card Placing. It will let you place a card in the zone you wants.

Activation Message set to Semi Auto Cancel – If you want to skip a message asking you for activate cards effect you can hold the right mouse at that times.

If you want to activate a chain or a cards effect at some phase you can hold left mouse at appropriates times. (EX = Activate Trap Dustshoot at opponent Draw Phase hold a left mouse at that time it will ask you if you want to activate it’s effect).

If you hate duel speech you can turn it off at Speech Balloons.

*Note : You can change Duel Option when you are dueling just click on a tool icon on the bottom left of duel screen.

Duel Disk icon is for creating a duel If you click on it It will display Duel Menu and showing How many Auto Duels, Create Duel right now

If You want to duel. You can create 2 type of duel in this game (Auto Duel and Create Custom Duel)

Auto Duel is random duel with random opponent you can select Duel Format (Single or Match Duel) and Opponent’s LV (You can’t create Tag Duel in this game).

After you click confirm you will waiting for a random duel and random opponent, If you want to cancel auto duel you can click on duel disk icon again. It will ask you to cancel duel.

If you click on Create Duel it will bring you to Create Custom Duel Menu, Create Duel is not a random duel when you create it  you must wait for someone to click on you and sent duel request.

You can limit opponent to only your friend, Team, Nationality and you can set Passwords.

If you click Customize you can set a Handicap by select starting LP and you can choose wait time per turn+Total Wait Time.

When you are dueling if you want to activate some Card Effect from your deck or graveyard  or Special Summon Monsters from Extra Deck you must click on it to activate it (Click on Graveyard or Extra Deck) and at the end of duel you can rate opponent, Your opponent will get a good manner level if you rate him/her Good or excellent (more stars).

How to get cards in this game? right now there are 5 way for you to get card in this game.

1. By Enter Boosterpass code or Boosterpass 150 (You can’t trade cards from Structure Deck).

2. By winning NPC (You can’t trade cards you get from NPC).

3. By Trading with Other Player.

4. By Trading 50 unwant cards to Blister at Blister’s Hideout to get 1 card you want (You can’t trade cards you get from Blister).

5. By Spending BP (Boosterpass) to opening Booster Pack at Blister’s Hideout.

Part 1 How To Download/Install The Game and Register User ID

This is The Beginner’s Guide for new player who don’t know how to start. When you interested in Yu-Gi-OH! Online but don’t know how to start this guide will help you.

If you really want to play Yu-Gi-OH! Online you must download it but before download it you must check your System Requirement to see if you can run Yu-Gi-OH! Online on your PC.

After you know that your PC can run it you need to download it but before downloading I would like you to know Yu-Gi-OH Online Main Site (Official Site).

Official Site for Yu-Gi-Oh Online game is http://www.yugioh-online.net/ and there are a lot of Main Site divide by country click the country where you live it will take you to Yu-Gi-OH Online Official Site in your language.

If there is no country for where you live just go to http://www.yugioh-online.net/v3/?country=US. It’s US Mainsite for Yu-Gi-Oh Online.

***Note – A different between each country main site is update, time zone and language (Japan Mainsite is the fastest one when it’s comes to update).

After you know Yu-Gi-OH! Online Official Site the next thing you need to do is Download and Install the game You can download it at http://www.yugioh-online.net/v3/downloads/start click on I Agree button to download it.

***Note : If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7 you may need to download and install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package before (You can install it by right click and click run as Administrator).

After finish downloading install it (You may need to right click on the download file and click run as Administrator If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7).

You can’t play the game yet you need to register your User ID at http://www.yugioh-online.net/v3/regists/index. Click I agree and type your information (If you want to buy Duelpass/Boosterpass or Duelpass 150 from the official site you may need to choose the same country you have for Paypal/Credit Card).

Please type a correct E-Mail and Remember Question and Answer You will need it If you forgot password (When you forgot your password you can get it back at http://www.yugioh-online.net/v3/logins/reminder or by contacting Konami support using your Inquiry ID).

After you click entry You will need to confirm it After confirm it you are finish registerd your user ID and they will give you an Inquiry ID. Please Keep it safe, Inquiry ID is the unique number for contact Konami Support When you have a problem with your account (When you got banned or When you lost User Name or Password).

Here an important of Inquiry ID : The Inquiry ID is essential when contacting the Yu-Gi-Oh! ONLINE Customer Support. Please make sure to write it down.

Inquiry IDs cannot be reissued. Please note that support services might be unavailable without an Inquiry ID. Please do not allow others to use your Inquiry ID.

***Note : User ID’s for accounts not logged in for 180 days or more will be deleted.

After Finish Registration you can login to the game now using User Id and password you got but before Log in to the game you can customize Screen Resolution, Language and Sound at Options.

There are 7 Language for you to choose and 3 Screen Resolution. A Different between each language is Game Text/Description and NPC name will change to your chosen language but Cards Image are the same (Using TCG Image).

After customization Screen/Sound and Language you can now login to the game by Click Online (You can’t play this game offline) Type your User ID and Password after that you must creating a Player Name (It can be any name with at least 3 character).

1 User ID can have 3 Player inside but you can’t login and play a diffrent Player from the same user Id at the same time.

If you got Boosterpass points you will get it for the User ID (If you have 2 or more player in that user ID, All Player in the same user ID can use it).

EX = I have 3 Player and I enter Boosterpass code for 1 Player and receive 30 Boosterpass Points, If you log in with a different player inside your user ID you will see 30 Boosterpass Points If one of  player use them all other player in that user ID can’t use it.
