Hello,

Its now the third week into a new season, and after some lengthy maintenance shutdowns, (that might have indicated some kind of change was coming,) we have received nothing but bitter disappointment.
The number of days since the previous pack release is over 250, and the online meta is rapidly becoming outdated, stale and repeating. The much anticipated launch into 5Ds, tuners and synchros does not look like it will happen now, or for at least the next couple of MONTHS.
So, rather than paying for this “much neglected second-class nothing-new rehash” some have started to play a different electronic format Yu-gi-oh; the Nintendo DS version “5D’s Stardust Accelerator WC2009″ has alot of features that are desperately missing from the PC version; newest cards (even its own exclusive cards) including sychros and tuners, tag team duelling, turbo duelling and so on. What’s more is you don’t have to pay for every single duel, and you can just enjoy the mind-challenge of building decks and trying different duelling methods and strategies.
I really hoped it wouldn’t come to this, but with the state that the online meta has become and with no news to indicate any hope for the future……
So instead, some people are turning to using nds emulators that run on the PC, such as : http://www.ideasemu.org/index.php
(Dont forget you may need an archive extractor to install Ideas such as: http://rarlab.com/download.htm )
and then installing a downloading program such as: http://azureus.sourceforge.net/download.php
and then visiting sites such as : http://www.mininova.org/
and then doing a search for the WC2009 rom such as “[NDS]Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds Stardust Accelerator World Championship 2009″ – either the JAP or EUR versions are fine.
Not that I would condone such actions, but when people are tired of being left behind can you really blame them ?

source0 : So it looks like Lightsworn were heavily hit, along with Destiny hero decks.
Six samurai might make a comeback now, but the biggest news is no limited to Caius and lots of limits off Monarchs – prepare for a deluge of those decks !
Although there are currently no new cards on the list, it doesnt mean a new pack wont hit soon – they might just update the banlist again later.
Spirit of Sword : Gladiator and Lightsworn are the most popular deck now in online meta but we may see a monarch deck return in the future.

From: http://www.yugioh-online.net/top/english-oc/event/ultimate/index.html
The event is open to players over Level 2 who have played a total 35 Duels or more, and it is held in Duel Academy World Server.
These are the Prize Cards from this Event:

Fossil Tusker (New Card) When this card destroys an opponent’s monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard, inflict 400 damage to your opponent.
Phantom Dragonray Bronto (New Card) This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it be treated as an Effect Monster with this effect:
* The original ATK of this card becomes 2300. If this card attacks, it is changed to Defense Position at the end of the Battle Phase. This card’s battle position cannot be changed until the end of your next turn, except with a card effect.
Il Blud (New Card) This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it be treated as an Effect Monster with this effect:
* Once per turn, you can Special Summon 1 Zombie-Type monster from your hand or from either player’s Graveyard. When this card is removed form the field, destroy all Zombie-Type monsters Special Summoned by this effect.
Royal Firestorm Guards (New Card) When this card is Normal Summoned, select 4 Pyro-Type monsters in your Graveyard. Return those cards to the Deck, then draw 2 cards.
Defensive Tactics (New Card) Activate only if you control a “Gladiator Beast” monster. Monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle this turn, and any battle damage you take is reduced to 0. Put this card on the bottom of your Deck.
Gladiator Beast Torax (New Card) If this card was Special Summoned by the effect of a “Gladiator Beast” monster, at the end of any Battle Phase that this card attacked or was attacked, you can return it to the Deck to draw 1 card.
Gladiator Beast Octavius (New Card) When this card is Special Summoned by the effect of a “Gladiator Beast” monster, destroy 1 face-down Spell or Trap Card. At the end of your Battle Phase, if this card attacked or was attacked, return this card to the Deck unless you discard 1 card.
Teva (16 winners, YOC Spring 2007) When this card is Tribute Summoned successfully, your opponent cannot declare an attack during his/her next turn.
Twinheaded Beast (8 winners, place YOC Spring 2007) This card can attack twice during the same Battle Phase.
Victory Dragon (4 winners, YOC Spring 2007) This card cannot be Special Summoned. To Tribute Summon this card, you must Tribute 3 Dragon-Type monsters. If this card attacks your opponent directly and reduces their Life Points to 0, you win the Match.
History of Ultimate matches:
1st Ultimate Match: 2008/08/28 – 2008/09/12 (15 days)
2nd Ultimate Match: 2009/01/19 – 2009/02/04 (16 days) 144 days later
3rd Ultimate Match: 2009/05/04 - 2009/05/15 (11 days) 105 days later
This recent flood of events may seem excessive, but Konami did a very similar thing previously:
Anniversary Trial 3rd: 2008/08/01 4th: 2009/04/16
Ultimate Match 1st: 2008/08/28 (28 days later) 3rd: 2009/05/04 (18 days later)
Season end 7th: 2008/09/11 (14 days later) 9th: 2009/05/14 (10 days later)
Pack release 48th: 2008/09/25 (14 days later)
So if this pattern continues perhaps we will see the next pack released around 2009/05/28, thats my prediction.

This vjump tell us the Yu-Gi-Oh Online Championship (YOC) spring 2009 prize card is Blue Eyes White Dragon [alt art]

This is not that surprising, considering other Blue Eyes White Dragon [alt art] have been used previously:

YOC Winter ‘07 – 2nd place prize.

YOC Spring ‘06 = 1st place prize.
As I cannot read Japanese, I’ll have to wait for spiritofswords for further interpretation of this info.
Thanks to TheValkeria for bringing this to my notice.
